The Lao Satellite Campus serves as the regional branch of the Asian Satellite Campuses Institute, established through a partnership with the National Agriculture and Forestry Research Institute in 2015. This campus is dedicated to supporting students engaged in the Transnational Doctoral Programs for Leading Professionals in Asian Countries. It facilitates research activities, fosters communication between students and their academic advisors, provides information to potential applicants, and organizes various recruitment events, as well as admission and graduation ceremonies.
The hybrid doctoral program is specifically designed for Laotian citizens employed in government agencies in Vientiane, with the exception of those working in provincial and district offices, and faculty members of the National University of Laos. Candidates who have completed their master's degree and are seeking to conduct advanced research while maintaining their professional positions are encouraged to apply for this program.
Available Research Fields
At the Satellite Campus, doctoral programs are offered in various disciplines including law, medicine, bioagricultural sciences, and environmental studies.
Since its inception, the campus has welcomed students from several prestigious institutions, such as the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and the Faculty of Law at the National University of Laos. As of 2024, Laotian students are actively engaged in advanced studies at the Graduate School of Environmental Studies, the Graduate School of Bioagricultural Sciences, and the Graduate School of Medicine.
