NUAL-PH holds Shinnenkai 2024; elects new set of officers for 2024-2026

The Nagoya University Alumni Association- Philippines (NUAL-PH) celebrated Shinnenkai 2024 on 18 February 2024 at the Luxent Hotel, Quezon City, Manila.  Highlighting the celebration were the conferment of recognition to Dr. Editha C. Cedicol, Designated Professor of the NU Asian Satellite Campus-Philippines (NUASC-PH) for outstanding service; and the election of a new set of NUAL-PH Officers for 2024-2026 during the general assembly meeting.  About 40 alumni and guests attended the event.

In his video message to Dr. Cedicol, Dr. Akira Yamauchi, Director of the NU Asian Satellite Campuses Institute (NU-ASCI), expressed sincere appreciation for her commitment and dedication in managing the agriculture satellite campus in Cambodia, and the satellite campus in the Philippines, as well as in helping ASCI scholars in their study programs (full message can be accessed in the special issue of the Meidai Newsletter). In response, Dr. Cedicol thanked NUAL-PH and ASCI for the recognition of her service to NU in many ways through the years. She lauded the accomplishments of the Association led by Dr. Andres Oreta, outgoing President, as well as those of the past officers and members.

Capping the event is the election of a new set of officers who took their oath of office to serve the Association from 2004 to 2006.  The new NUAL-PH officers are:  Dr. Neil H. Tan-Gana, President; Dr. Roel R. Suralta, Vice President; Dr. Rodolfo P. Mendoza, Jr., Secretary; Ms. Daisy V. Montesa, Treasurer; Dr. Joy B. Banayo, Assistant Secretary;  Ms. Julie Marie I.
