Entrance Ceremony at the Cambodia Satellite Campus

On 1 November 2024, ASCI Cambodia Satellite Campus held an Entrance Ceremony for the newly enrolled students.

This academic year, six Ph.D. students have been accepted to the Graduate School of Law, the Graduate School of International Development, and the Graduate School of Bioagricultural Sciences.

The ceremony started with an introductory video showcasing the Asian Satellite Campuses Institute’s transnational doctoral programs.

Dr. YAMAUCHI Akira, Director of Asian Satellite Campuses Institute, Nagoya University, delivered the opening and welcome remarks. He congratulated the new students on their admission to the ASCI programs and warmly welcomed them to the ASCI’s family.  Dr. Yamauchi also shared insights about ASCI's journey, its milestones, and what it has accomplished to date.

In addition, there were greetings and congratulatory messages from Dr. Mizushima Tomonori, Vice Dean of the Graduate School of Law, Dr. NAKAZONO Mikio, Dean of the Graduate School of Bioagricultural Sciences, and a video message from Dr. SHIMADA Yuzuru, Dean of the Graduate School of International Development.

The ceremony was honored by the presence of distinguished guests and partners from universities, H.E. Mr.  NAGASE Kensuke, Chargés d'Affaires ad interim of the Embassy of Japan in the Kingdom of Cambodia, Embassy of Japan in Cambodia, Mr. SANUI Kazumasa, Chief Representative, JICA Cambodia Office, Dr. LUY Channa, Rector of the Royal University of Law and Economics, and Dr. HOUN Thavreak, Vice Rector of the Royal University of Agriculture.

Furthermore, Dr. MON Sreyleak, a prominent GSID graduate of ASCI, shared her advice and tips with the incoming students on how to manage their time and successfully complete their studies and graduate in three years.

The ceremony was concluded by Dr. EHARA Hiroshi, Director and Professor at the International Center for Research and Education in Agriculture.
