2018 Entrance Ceremony at Cambodia Satellite Campus

On 31st October 2018 Cambodia Satellite Campus held an Entrance Ceremony in the celebration of new students who were selected for Transnational Doctoral Programs for Leading Professionals in Asian Countries. This year marked the 5 anniversary of the program and four students were admitted.
  1. Mr. Sun Chhun Hieng, Graduate School of Law, from Ministry of Interior.
  2. Ms. Ren Theary, Graduate School of Bio-Agricultural Sciences, from Ministry of Agriculture, Fishery and Forestry.
  3. Mr. Chea Chantum, Graduate School of International Development, from Ministry of Planning.
  4. Ms. Mon Sreyleak, Graduate School of International Development, from National Bank of Cambodia.
 
The ceremony started with the opening remarks from Professor Fumio ISODA, Director of Asian Satellite Campuses Institute, stressing the importance and uniqueness of the program. We also receive our guests of honor, including H.E. Mr. Chea Chanto, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia, H.E. Mr. Toun Thavrak, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Planning, Mr. Hironori Suzuki, Counsellor of Embassy of Japan, Mr. Yuji Shinohara, Representative of JICA, H.E. Dr. Chet Chealy, Rector of Royal University of Phnom Penh, and H.E. Dr. Ngo Bunthan, Rector of Royal University of Agriculture.

In 2018, Cambodia Satellite Campus has also produced two PhD graduates: Dr. Bun Chan from the Graduate School of Bio-Agriculture Sciences and Dr. Ly Yasak from the Graduate School of International Development. Two fresh graduates provided motivational speech to the new students as well as sharing their experiences on their journey to obtaining the Doctoral degree.

This year marks the fifth year of Nagoya University Satellite Campus in Cambodia. Currently, there are 14 students are being enrolled in the Graduate School of International Development, Graduate School of Law, Graduate School of Bio-agricultural Sciences, and Graduate School of Medicine. The students are from various governmental institutions including National Bank of Cambodia, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Forestry and Fisheries, and Ministry of Civil Services. With the support from Nagoya University and stakeholders, we hope to receive more doctoral students in the years to come.
