The Online Entrance Ceremony of the Cambodia Satellite Campus

On 8 October 2020, ASCI Cambodia Satellite Campus held the Online Entrance Ceremony for three new students who have been successfully admitted to Nagoya University through the “Transnational Doctoral Programs for Leading Professionals in Asian Countries”. This is a unique program by Nagoya University where students can pursue PhD in their own countries without leaving their job. The newly enrolled students this year are as below:
 
  1. Mr. TAING Ratana: currently works at the Constitutional Council of Cambodia was admitted to the Graduate School of Law.
  2. Mr. KONG Sothea: currently works at the Royal University of Agriculture was admitted to the Graduate School of Bio-Agricultural Sciences.
  3. Ms. WANN Chinda: currently works at Prek Leap National Institute of Agriculture was admitted to the Graduate School of Bio-Agricultural Sciences.
 
Due to COVID-19, the Entrance Ceremony this year was conducted online. It started with the video messages of H.E. MIKAMI Masahiro, Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia. He kindly provided congratulatory video messages to the new students and hope that they will make the most of this precious opportunity to acquire knowledge and expertise for the development of Cambodia in the future. Mr. SHINOHARA Yuji, Representative of Japanese International Cooperation Agency, also provided his congratulatory messages to the new students.
 
 
We are honored to have the participation of H.E. YUOK Ngoy, Secretary of States of the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport. He appreciates the efforts of Nagoya University in building human resources in Cambodia and offers his full supports to the program. From Nagoya University side, it was joined by Prof. KAWAKITA Kazuhito, Vice President of Nagoya University, Prof. ISODA Fumio, director of Asian Satellite Campuses Institute, also offered their congratulatory messages and hope the students will be able to make their utmost efforts in absorbing advanced knowledge and hopefully graduate within the designated timeframe.
 
This event was also joined by rectors of partner and collaborating universities in Cambodia including, Dr. CHET Chealy, Rector of Royal University of Phnom Penh, Dr. NGO Bunthan, Rector of Royal University of Agriculture, Dr. LUY Channa, Rector of Royal University of Law and Economics, Dr. HOR Peng, Rector of National University of Management, and Dr. THUN Vathana, Director of Prek Leap National Institute of Agriculture.
